Privacy Policy

Last updated: 30 October 2026

Your privacy matters to us. This Privacy Policy describes what personal data HallKart collects, why we collect it, how we use and share it, and the choices and rights you have. By using our website or joining the waitlist, you agree to the practices described here.

  1. 1. Who we are

    HallKart ("HallKart", "we", "us", "our") is an online marketplace, being built in India, where hosts discover, compare and book wedding halls, function halls and convention centres, and where venue owners manage availability, enquiries and bookings. This policy explains how we handle personal data collected through this website, the partner waitlist and, once launched, the HallKart platform. We process personal data in line with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the rules made under them.

  2. 2. Information we collect

    Information you give us. When you join the waitlist or write to us, we collect your name, venue or business name, phone number, email address, city, venue type and anything you choose to tell us about your venue(s), such as the number of halls, guest capacity or how you manage bookings today.

    Information collected automatically. When you visit the site, we and our service providers receive technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device information, the page you submitted a form from, and the date and time of your visit. We use your IP address to limit repeated form submissions and prevent abuse.

    When the platform launches. Hosts may also share event details (date, guest count, budget, preferences) and venue owners may share listing details, photos, pricing, availability, and the business, tax (GST) and bank details needed to receive payments. Payments will be processed by licensed third-party payment providers; we do not store full card numbers.

  3. 3. How we use your information

    • To add you to the waitlist and send you a confirmation email.
    • To contact you about onboarding your venue or planning your event, and to answer your questions.
    • To run the marketplace once live — listings, enquiries, quotes, bookings, payments and reviews.
    • To keep the site secure, block spam and bots, and prevent fraud or misuse.
    • To understand interest by city and venue type and improve HallKart.
    • To meet legal, tax and regulatory obligations and enforce our terms.
  4. 4. Legal basis and consent

    We process your personal data on the basis of the consent you give when you submit a form or use our services, and for legitimate uses permitted by law, such as complying with legal obligations, preventing fraud and keeping our services secure. You may withdraw your consent at any time by writing to hello@hallkart.com. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing already carried out, but we may no longer be able to keep you on the waitlist or provide some services.

  5. 5. Cookies and similar technologies

    We use a small number of essential cookies to keep the site working and to remember your cookie choice (for up to one year). We do not use advertising cookies.

    We use Google reCAPTCHA to protect our forms from spam and abuse. reCAPTCHA collects hardware and software information, such as device and application data, and sends it to Google for analysis. Its use is subject to the Google Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

    You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though parts of the site may then not work as intended.

  6. 6. How we share information

    We do not sell or rent your personal data. We share it only:

    • With service providers who help us run HallKart — website hosting, email delivery, spam protection, data storage and, once live, payment processing — under obligations to keep it confidential and use it only for our purposes.
    • Between hosts and venues, once the platform is live, to the extent needed to respond to an enquiry or complete a booking you ask for.
    • For legal reasons — where required by law, court order or a government authority, or to protect the rights, property or safety of HallKart, our users or others.
    • In a business transfer, such as a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, subject to this policy.
  7. 7. Data storage and transfers

    Your data is stored on secure servers operated by us or our service providers, which may be located in India or other countries. Where data is transferred outside India, we do so only as permitted under applicable law and take reasonable steps to ensure it remains protected.

  8. 8. How long we keep your data

    We keep waitlist details until HallKart launches and for as long as needed to onboard you or stay in touch, or until you ask us to delete them. Account, booking and payment records are kept for as long as your account is active and afterwards for as long as required by law (for example, tax and accounting rules). When data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it.

  9. 9. How we protect your data

    We use reasonable security practices, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls and keeping secrets such as passwords out of the browser. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a personal data breach occurs, we will notify affected users and authorities as required by law.

  10. 10. Your rights

    Subject to applicable law, you have the right to:

    • access a summary of the personal data we hold about you and how we process it;
    • correct, complete or update inaccurate or incomplete data;
    • have your data erased when it is no longer needed;
    • withdraw consent at any time;
    • nominate another person to exercise your rights in the event of death or incapacity; and
    • raise a grievance with us, and, if unresolved, with the Data Protection Board of India.

    To exercise any of these rights, email hello@hallkart.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting on your request. You can also unsubscribe from our emails at any time by replying to them.

  11. 11. Children

    HallKart is intended for people aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

  12. 12. Third-party links

    Our site may link to third-party websites or services, including venue websites. We are not responsible for their privacy practices, and we encourage you to read their privacy policies.

  13. 13. Changes to this policy

    We may update this policy from time to time, for example when the HallKart platform launches. The latest version will always be on this page with its "Last updated" date. If we make significant changes, we will let you know by email or a notice on the site.

  14. 14. Contact and grievance officer

    For questions, requests or complaints about this policy or your personal data, contact our Grievance Officer at hello@hallkart.com. We will acknowledge your request promptly and aim to resolve it within the time required by law. Please also read our Terms & Conditions.
